Josh Porter is a Managing Director of Venture Capital at Manhattan West where he oversees the firm’s Venture Capital strategy sourcing and partnering with early stage hyper-growth B2B and B2C companies.
Prior to joining Manhattan West, Mr. Porter served as a Managing Director at Reimagined Ventures, a private investment firm he co-founded with Magnetar Capital Founder, Alec Litowitz. With a focus on disruption in consumer technology, healthcare, and digital media investments, Mr. Porter sourced and managed over 20 transactions including the firm’s investments in Bird (pending IPO), Bridg (acquired by Cardlytics), Rent the Runway, The Bouqs, Outer and others. Mr. Porter also led the firm’s Emerging Manager fund of funds strategy. Prior to forming Reimagined Ventures, Mr. Porter worked as an Associate at Point72 Asset Management (formerly SAC Capital) where he worked on the Equity Capital Markets desk. He invested in a portfolio focused on global IPO and secondary equity offerings including two of the largest IPOs on record (Visa and Industrial & Commercial Bank of China). Mr. Porter began his career as an Analyst at Goldman Sachs.
Mr. Porter received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from The College of the Holy Cross where he ran varsity Track and Field. Additionally, he earned a Master in Business Administration from Columbia Business School where he completed a Fellowship in the White House Council of Economic Advisers.
A trusted counselor to many founders of tech start-ups, Mr. Porter consults on behalf of numerous early stage Los Angeles-based companies including NoCap Live, Grow Credit, Returnmates, and BookShlf. A Boston native, he currently resides in Marina Del Rey, California with his fiancée and their three dogs.
