Josh Porter is a Managing Director in the Venture Capital group at Manhattan West where he runs the firm’s early stage venture capital strategy, leading pre-Seed and Seed round financings in best-in-class, hyper-growth B2B and B2C companies.
Prior to joining Manhattan West, Mr. Porter served as a Managing Director at Reimagined Ventures, a private investment firm he co-founded with a focus on disruption in consumer technology, healthcare, and digital media investments. Mr. Porter sourced and managed over 20 transactions at RIVC, including the firm’s investments in Bird (pending IPO), Bridg (acquired by Cardlytics), Rent the Runway, The Bouqs, Outer and others. He held Board seats at Canvs AI and THUUZ (acquired by Stats Perform), and also led the firm’s Emerging Manager fund of funds strategy, directing LP commitments into the first funds at Fika Ventures, Wonder Ventures, and Refactor Capital.
Prior to forming Reimagined Ventures, Mr. Porter worked as an Associate at Point72 Asset Management (formerly SAC Capital) where he worked on the Equity Capital Markets desk. He invested in a portfolio focused on global IPO and secondary equity offerings including two of the largest IPOs on record (Visa and Industrial & Commercial Bank of China). Mr. Porter began his career as an Analyst at Goldman Sachs.
Mr. Porter received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from The College of the Holy Cross where he ran varsity Track and Field, and an MBA from Columbia Business School. He also served as a White House Fellow in the Council of Economic Advisers.
As a trusted advisor to many founders, Mr. Porter works with a number of early stage Los Angeles-based companies – including NoCap Live, Grow Credit, Returnmates, and BookShlf.
A Boston native, he resides in Marina Del Rey, California with his wife, Amina, and their three dogs.
